Administrative History
White Watson (1760-1835) was the grandson and son of carvers and masons, Samuel Watson the elder (1662-1715) and Samuel Watson the younger (1715-1778). He was a distinguished naturalist and geologist, as well as the designer of his grandson's monument in Heanor Parish Church.

Acquired by Derbyshire Record Office in 1980.
