Biography
The third son of Edward Miller Mundy I (1750-1822) of Shipley Hall and his first wife Frances Meynell, George entered the Royal Naval Academy in 1789. Over the course of his career he commanded several ships during the Napoleonic Wars, including HMS Hydra. He became Rear Admiral in 1830, was knighted in 1837 and was promoted to Admiral of the Fleet in 1847. He died unmarried.
