Administrative HistoryThe Investors in People standard for people management was launched by the Secretary of State for Employment in 1990. The following year, Investors in People UK was formed as a non-departmental public body to promote the standard. Derbyshire County Council's approach to becoming accredited to the standard was originally departmental: the Director of Human Resources reported in July 2012 that each department had successfully achieved its own recognition of meeting the standard, but recommended a corporate approach from 2013 onwards. In 2017, Investors in People UK was converted into a Community Interest Company.
Custodial HistoryThe Investors In People records were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office in October 2024. They were originally stored on the council's Electronic Document and Records Management system, but were removed from the system after being accessioned and moved into a digital archive repository.
