Administrative History | John Chambers of the Hurst, Tibshelf, was successively land agent to the 4th Duke of Newcastle at Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire c.1825 - c.1830 and to the Curzon family, Barons Scarsdale, c.1830 - c.1860. Chambers was also a trustee of the marriage settlement of William Drury-Lowe and the Hon. Caroline Curzon. Chambers' son Benjamin mentioned in some of the Newcastle correspondence also acted as land agent to the Duke of Newcastle. |
