DescriptionThe voyage was "undertaken for the purpose of completeing the discovery of that vast country" in 1801-1803 in H.M.S. Investigator, the armed vessel Porpoise and Cumberland Schooner, with an account of shipwreck of the Porpoise, arrival of the Cumberland at Mauritius and imprisonment of the commander during six and a half years on the island. With appendix.
