DescriptionHe is to leave town that evening, following death of his father on Satruday after only 3 days illness; expresses his own distress and pious resignation of his sisters. Gives news of Vance. Hopes to meet in London before Richardson takes up appointment: wants a discussion before stores are embarked and expedition clothes are made. Remarks on the coincidence that they left Point Turnagain on the day, 22 August, that Parry sailed out of Repulse Bay, 539 miles distant. Refers to a manuscript by a friend of Richardson’s.
