Administrative HistoryThe Fabian Society was established in London in January 1884 to advance the principles of a socialist society. It was one of the founding organisations for the British Labour Party in 1900. The Derby branch had been established by November 1891, when it is referenced in the Derbyshire Advertiser and Journal (6 Nov 1891, p. 4, column c). It closed some time between 2012 and 2025.
Custodial HistoryThese records were donated to Derbyshire Record Office by a former secretary in April 2025.
