Arrangement
A fair copy of entries of baptisms, marriages and burials was made in 1598, going back as far as 1561. These occur at intervals through the volume and are followed by similar entries, as folows:
Baptisms 1598-1753, with a gap 1630-1663
Marriages 1598-1747, with a gap 1619-1662
(odd entries fro 1631 and 1646)
Burials 1598-1754, with a gap 1631-1660
(odd entries for 1641 and 1659)
The baptisms section contains entries of baptism, marriage and burial 1566-1598, signed by Walter Kynnersley, curate (the Eggington copy entries are signed by the rector) and further entries 1604-1612. It is not clear whether these entries also refer to Egginton, where there was a serious dispute about rights of presentation in the sixteenth century. Some marriage entries in 1603 and 1606 refer to the woman being pregnant.
