Title
Research file: "Christine Bonner, Guide to Sources of Information for Cavers"
Date
1985
Description
Letter from Christine Bonner to Doug Nash 5 Sep 1985 and copy of his reply dated 12 Sep 1985. Ms Bonner asks permission to include Nash's details in her forthcoming guide to sources of information for cavers. Nash replies expressing interest in the project and giving summary details of what he says "could be collectively called the Nash/OM/Kirkham Collection". Of his address in Eyam, Glebe Cottage, he says: "Glebe Cottage is not what you would normally think of as a cottage. It was originally the Glebe Mines Ltd, Glebe Cottage Offices. When I took early retirement as Mines Archivist to Laporte Industries, Glebe Mines Ltd., I bought it from them, since no normal house was large enough to house the collection. Dr John Beck (Geology) joined me, and I suppose you could say that our lives have become dedicated to the collection. A further complication is that I am head of OM Mines Research and Exploration and John represents the Technical Speleo Group who, in turn, absorbed the old British Speleological Association Section".
