Administrative HistorySheila Cooper was keen to tell her story about the DNA test, but was unable to do so before she died. Her daughter, Judie Adnett, promised to share the story at a meeting of the Buxton and District U3A Oral History Group. Sheila was born in 1932 and won a scholarship to study Maths at Royal Holloway University at a time when only a small percentage of the population attended university, and an even smaller percentage of the female population. After graduating, Sheila worked in Manchester as a computer programmer designing AVRO aircraft, it is here she met her future husband, Ben Cooper. After the birth of their three daughters, Sheila became a teacher.
