DescriptionReciting that John Man mortgaged to John Plumptre deceased by lease and release dated 2 and 3 May 1750, one half of two whole parts, the whole divided into three parts, of lands, courts, advowsons etc in Halstead, Tilton, Marfield or Marefield South and Whatborough or Whatburgh, tithes of the same places, and advowson to vicarages of the churches of Halstead and Tilton, all in Leicestershire, and that the mortgage was assigned by leased and release dated 9 and 10 March 1753 by Plumptre's eldest son and executor to Charles and Robert his younger sons, and that Shuttleworth has contracted to buy the premises for £4,000 and to pay John Man an annuity of £200 for life to be charged upon the premises, and witnessing that for £3,700 paid to Charles and Robert Plumptre by Shuttleworth at John Man's request and for £300 paid to Man, the Plumptres and Man assigned the premises as follows to Shuttleworth: one third, being half of two full parts, divided into three, of the manor of Halstead and of lands etc in Halstead, Tilton, Marfield or Marefield South and Whatborough or Whatburgh, and of rectories and parsonages impropriate of the same places, and of tithes etc in same places, and of advowson to the vicarages of Halstead and Tilton, all in Leicestershire, and witnessing that to secure the payment of the annuity and for 10s paid to the Plumptres by Piddocke and Bonfoy, the Plumptres at Man's and Shuttleworth's request, released the premises to Piddocke and Bonfoy to the use that Man may have the annuity of £200 issuing out of the premises for life, subject to the use of Robert Holden and William Burleton for 200 years in trust to permit Shuttleworth to receive the rents, the term to cease on Man's death, then to use of Shuttleworth. Excepts payment of the annuity, various small sums (annuity, quit rent, tithes, allowance to tenants in respect of small tithes) and 2 leases.
