| Description | Reciting Anthony Roper's lease dated 26 May 13 Charles I [1637] to Thomas and Henry Stich of, inter alia, lands mentioned below (see D 779B/T 46), which term Robert Houlden purchased and asigned to Buxton and Wandell in trust for himself and witnessing that Buxton and Wandell, in execution of the trust, with the consent of Samuel Houlden to whom the lease has come, and in consideration of intended marriage between Mary, daughter of Edmund Lathwell, and Samuel Houlden, and of Mary's marriage portion have assigned to Lathwell and Percivall, 2 messuages in Aston in the tenures of John Clemenson and Richard Pym, with lands belonging, closes in Aston called the Gill meadow, Alsome meadow, Lockholme Meadow Acres, pieces of ground called Birch Acree, Forck mere Acre, 2 yard of arable land there lying with Howett Flatt, grounds called Caldwell Hill Close, the oxendoles, Thick rushes Flatt and the Hollow alias New Close in Weston, pieces of land called Great Cow holmes, Little Cowholme and the Stenyard, 2 Flatts of arable between Flatts of Joseph Wrights and abutting upon Coate Greene, all in Aston, Weston and Shardlow, in trust to permit Samuel Houlden to enjoy the profits for the residue of the 40-year term;
if he should die within the term, to permit Mary to enjoy the profits for life if the term continues so long;
if she dies within the term to allow whomever the reversion or remainder of the premises belongs to after the expiration of the term, to enjoy the profits. |
