Robert Holden of Shardlow gentleman for £384 of messuage in Mapperley in occupation of Alice Swindell alias Swinden widow commonly called the Head houses and all buildings, backsides etc belonging, enclosed ground called the Pease Hill, the Sawe Closes, pasture called Cowe Close, Little Close, pasture called Sheepe Close, Sheepe Close Meadow, the Laye Close, the Greate Pitt Close, the Little Pitt Close, piece adjoining heretofore parcel or reputed parcel of the Crow Moore, the Meadow Close near the head houses, all in Mapperley and in occupation of Alice Swindell or Swinden

with warranty against Palmer, his father Edward deceased, Robert Ireland gentleman and Philip and Katherine Earl and Countess of Chesterfield, excepting lease of premises made 30 January 10 James I [1613] by the Earl of Chesterfield, as Sir Philip Stanhopp, to Alice Swindell for 21 years from the following Michaelmas, of which 3 years are to run, and the assignment dated 20 February 13 James I [1616] by the same Sir Philip Stanhopp and William Gelstropp to George Peckham esquire of the remainder of the term in a lease for 99 years made of the premises, inter alia, by Walter Whalley esquire to Thomas Whalley on 12 October 1 Mary [1553]
