Description
To wife Hannah 1/3 of money, goods, debts and personal estate according to the custom of the City of London of which Lathwell is a free man, hoping that at her death she will remember their only grandchild Hannah Houlden;
to brother Richard £100, or if he is dead by time of payment, it is to be divided equally amongst his 4 daughters;
to sister Sarah Pratt £10, to her son Samuel Cheswell £10, to brother Perkins' 7 children £70 to be divided equally amongst them;
to every poor householder in last parish Lathwell lives in 5s;
to wife use of residue, after her death the residue to granchild Hannah at 21 or marriage, which first happens, provided that she does not marry before 18 without consent of Hannah Lathwell and brother John Perkins;
if she dies before 21 or marriage, then residue to children of brother Thomas, brother Henry, brother Bernard, sister Alice Gadlingstock, and sister Anne Worfin, as shall be living at Hannah's death underage and unmarried, equally.
Executors, wife Hannah, brother John Perkins of Lichfield gent;
for latter 's care and pain £40.
Codicil varies provision to give every poor householder in last place inhabited by Lathwell 5s, to giving £5 to poor of such place, to be distributed at John Perkins' discretion, 27 Dec 1671.
