| Description | This journal records various births, marriages and deaths relating to persons of Pilsley and the surrounding area, as well as other local events. The first entry in the book records the wedding of James Lynam jr and Ann Askew at Chesterfield on 21 Dec 1816, and the last records the writer's return home to Pilsley from Manchester on 11 April 1830. Some of the entries are referenced to published newspapers from the time, without any indication that William attended all such events or had a personal connection to them.
