Pinxton School Board
Administrative History
Elected school boards were established under the Education Act of 1870. Boards were empowered to build new schools in areas of poor educational provisions or else to absorb existing schools. In 1903 School Boards were replaced by Local Education Authorities. In Derbyshire the County Council was the local education authority.
