Title
Gallows Knoll
Date
20th Cent
Description
A rather over-exposed view from the top of the hill by Gallows Knoll west along the Wirksworth-Brassington road with the High Peak Trail on the right heading towards Hopton Incline. On the right is the works of the Magnesium Elektron Company established in 1963 and closed in 1966. Although it was anticipated that rail traffic would be generated, little actually materialised. The plant was subsequently taken over by Dresser Minerals.
