Administrative History | Strines Printing Company, later Strines Textiles, based at Strines near new Mills, produced dyed and printed fabric since the late eighteenth century. In 1999 it became part of the Leeds Group plc. The fabrics were intended for nightwear, underwear, workwear, fashion clothes, camouflage, furnishings, children's rag books and novelty items. Customers included Liberty and Osman Fabrics. |
Custodial History | These records were donated to New Mills Library anonymously and transferred to Derbyshire Record Office in September and October 2002. A further item was received in September 2004. |
