DescriptionPortrait of Holman facing left and brandishing a sword in his right hand. He is wearing green slashed breeches and boots with spurs. Around his neck his has a gold medallion on a pink ribbon and is wearing a cocked hat with plumes. Available on CD 157.

Joseph George Holman (1764-1817) began acting in amateur theatricals at the Soho Academy and made his debut as Romeo at Covent Garden in 1784. He was known for his energetic and naturalistic style, which contrasted greatly with that of the Kembles.
