Chesterfield, Bolsover and Clowne Water Board
Administrative History
The Water Works and Gas Light Company of Chesterfield was incorporated in 1825. The works were taken over by the Chesterfield Gas and Water Board in 1896. From 1933 the water supply has been provided by the Chesterfield and Bolsover Water Board, a statutory body representative of the Chesterfield Corporation and the Bolsover Urban District Council. In 1952 the name was changed to the Chesterfield, Bolsover and Clowne Water Board.
Custodial History
These records were transfered from Chesterfield Local Studies Library in April 2001. Further material was transferred from Chesterfield Local Studies Library in August 2016 (including one item re-accessioned from D7989 in March 2024). The Linacre Reservoir Observations Record Book was purchased in July 2020.
