Description
This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
A Map of Joshua Wigley's estate at Ireton Wood [c1770]. Scale: no scale shown. Size: 36 x 46 cm. Materials: ink on linen backed paper, some colour. Centred on: SK279479 Notes: well drawn map of small estate, 42 acres in three parcels, some field names, a house in elevation, a lane and gates: notes added about allotment in lieu of common. Location:DRO, D511M/P1; copy in DRO, D511M/P2, paper and ink copy made in 1838, larger scale.
