Title
Papers of Derbyshire Territorial Force Association
Description
The Derbyshire Territorial Force Association was formed in 1908 to carry out the provision of the Territorial and Reserve Forces Act 1907, whereby the county was expected to raise a certain portion of the Territorial Army. The Association was made up of representatives of civilian and military bodies to ensure that the objects of the Act were carried out. It first met in January 1908. The papers belonged to Colonel Herbert Brooke Taylor, one of the founder members and the Secretary of the Association for Derbyshire for its first five months.
