Administrative History | On 24 March 1986 an explosion caused the destruction of a bungalow at 51 Clarke Avenue, Loscoe. A Non-Statutory Public Inquiry was instituted by Derbyshire County Council, to be chaired by Gerard Ryan QC. The Inquiry ran from 6 November to 22 December 1986, and its report was submitted in February 1988. The explosion was caused by the build-up of gases in a landfill site, which had been used as a brickworks before becoming a refuse tip. The number in brackets in the list refers to the number given by the Inquiry team to the documents used as evidence in the proceedings. |
