Administrative History
Goyts Clough Quarry was worked for Thomas and Matthew Pickford, trading as T and M Pickford & Co, in the early nineteenth century. It is mentioned in John Farey's View of the agriculture and minerals of Derbyshire (1811) as providing slate or tile stone and paviers (or flagstones).
Custodial History
Acquired by Derbyshire Record Office in June 1995. Added to the catalogue as part of the FindersKeepers project with the help of volunteer NGS
