Administrative History
The chapel was built in 1845 and further land purchased in the 1870s. It was part of the Ashby-de-la-Zouch Wesleyan Methodist circuit until 1873, the Woodville and Swadlincote Methodist circuit from 1873 to 1955, and the South Derbyshire Methodist circuit from 1955 onwards. For a brief period (1962-1967) it was part of the Newhall and Woodville Methodist circuit.
Custodial History
These records were deposited by the Superintendent Minister of the South Derbyshire Methodist Circuit in December 1983 and December 1999.
