Administrative History
Zion Chapel was built in 1874 although the congregation dated from 1859. It was on High Street. It was demolished in 1961.
The congregation belonged to the New Connexion, which in 1907 joined the United Methodist Free Church and the Bible Christians to form the United Methodist Free Church. In 1932 this joined the Wesleyan Methodist and Primitive Methodist Churches to form the Methodist Church.
Custodial History
These records were deposited by Long Eaton Methodist Circuit at various dates from 1973. Some records were previously accessioned as part of the circuit records (D1213). They were reaccessioned in 1995.
