Hope Methodist Chapel
Administrative History
The Chapel was built by the Wesleyan Methodists in 1835, and research by the chapel in 1935 suggests that the Burgon and Longden families were early members and probably involved in the chapel's establishment, which was apparently built by William Chapman of Hucklow.
The chapel was originally in the Bradwell Wesleyan Circuit, which was ultimately superseded by the Peak Methodist Circuit.
Custodial History
the majority of these records were deposited by the Peak Methodist Circuit archivist in December 2021. A small number of records had been deposited by the circuit in January 1978 under reference D1877 and were re-accessioned in August 1994. Small additions were also received in 1995 and October 1999.
