Administrative History | Hathersage Parish Council was established under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1894. it helped to provide local public amenities and services such as street lighting, recreation grounds, footpaths and public seating, as well as liaise with other local authorities about planning and other issues.
In 1936 the Parish Council acquired the site of the Hearse House, together with records of the Hearse Fund, which was set up for the benefit of paupers and subscribers. Also in 1936, the site of the King George's Field, with bathing pool was acquired by the Council for recreational use by the public. |
