Administrative History | The original meeting house was built in 1807. In 1890 that building was pulled down and replaced by a larger building which included a Sunday School and seated 120 people. The Chapel was re-opened on 26 March 1891. A new Church Council was set up in 1977, with the inaugural meeting was held on 10 November of that year. It closed in October 1996.
It was a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel until the amalgamation of the Methodist Church in 1932. It was in the Bakewell Wesleyan Circuit until 1905, when it became part of the North Derbyshire Mission Circuit. In 1944 it became part of the Peak Methodist Circuit. |
Custodial History | Some of the records were deposited as part of the records of the Peak Methodist Circuit and re-accessioned in 1994. Additional deposits have been received at various dates between 1995 and 2010. |
