This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
The Rights Priviledges and Boundaries of Wigwall Grange according to the old Terrier of the Abbot of Derby ... as appears by the Decree & Mapps ... [17--]. Scale:not to scale. Size: 34 x 20 cm. Materials: ink on parchment. Centred on: SK 305545 Notes: cardinal points at edges south at top. Rough sketch to show boundaries, river Derwent to Wigwell Grange: Manor house and other houses in stylised elevations: roads, sheepwalk: map on recto of a folio, opposite verso has a statement on the history of the boundary of the grange. |
