Administrative History
In 1768 a small chapel was built on the Countess of Huntingdon's estate to serve as an Independent Chapel for Melbourne. From the early 1700s until then the congregation had been Presbyterian. Work began on a new Congregational Church in 1871 and was completed the following year, followed in 1873 by schoolrooms adjoining.
