Title | 25 February 1811 John Longsdon to Father - in reply to 23. Hope mother better - letters from James, William and Bessy with same constant desire to promote family happiness and in each evident proof though concealed that family not happy because largely of lowness of spirits to which recent events reduced Father and Mother. Happiness does not depend on money. He has enough to enjoy himself and every reason to suppose that he will see his sons making money. Affairs look well for making shirtings - do not curtail and draw for all sales rendered whenever and at whatever dates he pleases. |
