| Title | C.O. to British South Africa Company: enclosed reports from Sir Marshal Clarke [Res. Commr. Salisbury] in which allegations of misconduct of Native Commissioners with regard to recruitment of native labour are made; demand by C.O. that such conduct ceases and labour recruitment be taken entirely cut of the hands of the Native Commissioners whose task is only that of supervising the conduct of independent labour agents; drafts of cable to Administrator, Salisbury, asking for his comments, and of reply to C.O. complaining of the delay in transmission of these reports and refuting their contentions. |
