Lease by Dame Katherine Buswell of Clipston, widow, to Thomas Smith of Ashley, Northants, husbandman, of all that upper farm, messuage or tenement in Clipston commonly called Wades Farm and all the arable land (reputed to be 5 yardlands): to have the fallow fields, sheep commons and wheat field grass with fallow meadow and fallow from the feast of the Annunciation next ensuing for 3 years and the messuage and remainder of premises from Michaelmas next ensuing for 3 years: £45 per annum rent: not to break up any ancient greensward, additional rent of £5 per acre for any so ploughed up. Dated 10 February 21 Charles II [1669]
