Administrative History | The National Council for Carers and their Elderly Dependants was founded as the National Council for the Single Woman and Her Dependants in 1965. Its aims were to help single women who had the care of elderly or infirm dependants. In 1982 the National Council for the Single Woman and Her Dependants changed its name to National Council for Carers and their Elderly Dependants, with the aim of urging greater con-sideration in social security, health, welfare and fiscal policies for all carers of the elderly, infirm or disabled at home. |
