Thornhill family of Great Longstone: Unlisted material
Description
Including;- bastardy settlements, maps, DP Battery Calendars, miscellaneous local history papers, maps, newscuttings, parish magazines, sale catalogues, textiles, unidentified family photographs, deeds and personal correspondence, miscellaneous prints and drawings, notes produced by R Thornhill, and other unlisted archives. May also include records relating to the Liberal Unionist and Unionist parties in West Derbyshire.
This unlisted collection also includes a map described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
[Northern Boundary of the Lordship for Robert Thornhill 1570]. Scale: [25" to 1 mile 1:2500] Size: 65 x 50 cm. Materials: ink and coloured on tracing paper. Centred on: SK205729. Notes: north to top. Rough tracing of the plan showing Ashford Lordship with adjoining Liberties, Castlegate, Black Harry Lane and some Dales: points marked along the boundary: includes 20c. additions. Location: original not traced; copy in DRO, D307/MAPS/14
