Administrative History
Bakewell and Eyam were two of the rural deaneries in the Archdeaconry of Chesterfield. In 1974 they were amalgamated to form the Bakewell and Eyam Rural Deanery.
Custodial History
Deposited by the Clerk to the Ruridecanal Chapter at various dates from 1982, with some records previously part of the deposit of Bakewell parish records (D2057) and re-accessioned in March 2000.
Organisation Sub-Type
Church of England Rural deaneries
Archivist Note
Collection title amended 23 May 2018 on receipt of Accession 5701 as it was discovered that the deaneries in the Diocese of Derby had been changed. Both the Bakewell and Eyam and Glossop deaneries now come under Peak Deanery. As there was no existing collection for the Glossop Deanery, the records were accessioned to D2520 (BS)
