Administrative History
At various times, it was a chapel of ease to the parochial chapelry of Ashford in the Water (see D747) and to the mother church of Bakewell (see D2057). In 1872, Ashford and Sheldon became separate ecclesiastical parishes, but were united into a joint benefice. The records were deposited in the Record Office at various times between 1981 and 1991.
