Administrative History | In 1932, on unification of the Methodist Church, the then existing circuits were retained. In 1942 the Ripley Wesleyan, Ripley Nottingham Road (Primitive), Ripley United (see also D1820) and Codnor Circuits were formed into the amalgamated Ripley Circuit (see also D3118, D2025, D1820) but this circuit proved too large and unwieldy. The South Normanton Circuit (see also D3118, D2025, D4272) was formed from the Ripley Circuit in 1948 and was united with the Alfreton and South Normanton (former Primitive Methodist) Circuit in 1966 to form the Alfreton Circuit (see also D3118). |
