Title
(/1) File re. 'Diocesan Strategy / Etwall Review'
Date
1993-1995
Description
Reports and papers relating to the Diocesan Strategy Working Party established by the Bishop and Diocesan Synod. The object of the Working Party was to undertake an overall review of the Diocese with regard to its spending and to giving, particularly in regard to future staffing and pastoral organisation. Deaneries were invited to vote on specific recommendations and to comment on other matters. Also includes papers relating to the 'Etwall Review', 1993. This arose as a response to a proposal submitted by the PCC of St. Helen's, Etwall, which stated that, ''In the light of the fact that the Church Commissioners no longer provide the major element of stipends, the PCC believes it is time to review the distribution of clerical resources and the viability of keeping churches open within the Deanery''.
