Description | Date of birth: 08/01/1888 Marital status: Married Address: 16 Preston Avenue, Alfreton Type of injury: Injury - back Description of accident: Whilst helping to lift a heavy weight the claimant felt a sudden pain across the middle of his back Further information: The claimant injured his back on 30 June 1949. He was incapacitated during the injury benefit period which ended on 28 December 1949. Assessments were 80, 60 and 40 per cent, followed by a final assessment of 30 per cent for life by the Medical Board on 9 October 1951. On appeal this was reduced to 25 per cent for life due to 'pre-injury disability' of osteoarthritis. |
