Description | Date of birth: 26/05/1898 Marital status: Married Address: 49 Ruskin Road, Bull Farm, Mansfield Type of injury: Injury - knee Description of accident: Slipped on steel bar Further information: Greenhough had an accident on 1 April 1949 twisting his right knee. The Mansfield and District General Hospital notes state he had 'full movements' on 26 April 1949. On 9 August 1949 it is stated that 'Knee is improved [...] cartilage should be removed when we find a bed for him.' 16 August 1949 'Patient wishes to return to work.' On 13 March 1950 there is a handwritten note on the hospital notes that 'patient refused operation and discharged himself.' Decision in Appeal based on likelihood that claimant's pain due to arthritis related to a pre-existing condition. This was not upheld by the Tribunal who assessed him at 10 per cent from 18 February 1950 for life. |
