| Title | Local Appeal Tribunal case file for Thomas Hardwick, aged 52, Back Ripper at Oxcroft |
| Date | 1956 |
| Description | Date of birth: Marital status: Not given Address: 139 Shuttlewod Road, Bolsover Type of benefit claimed: Special Hardship Allowance Type of injury: Paralysis of the left hand Further information: Mr Hardwick had an accident on 8 November 1954 when he sustained a knee injury. There are medical reports from June 1956 stating that there is some paralysis relating to the left hand resulting from an accident in January 1951. There is also a letter dated 5 June 1956 from the Insurance Office stating that special hardship allowance will end on 6 June 1956 and outlining the appeal procedure. The paperwork is quite jumbled at times but this appears to be an amended decision rather than an appeal (there is no tribunal paperwork, but there are letters from the Insurance Office). There is a letter stating that a postal draft was enclosed for £4 1s 1d for the period 6 June 1956 to 3 July 1956, in accordance with the notice of award sent on 26 June 1956, which represents a change in decision. |
