In Hartley's post-accident jobs all were paid at a lower rate than a dirt hand until the latest job of 'assisting platelayer' wccih was paid at exactly the same rate of £8 17s 6d. An overpayment of benefit had therefore been made but repayment was not required as this had been the Insurance Officer's decision and Hartley was found to have acted in good faith. |
