Title | Agreement between John son of Roger de Somerford living in Glapwell and Avice his mother that Avice shall have during her lifetime half the capital messuage which she gave him and a third of its curtilage and that John and his heirs shall cultivate at their own cost and with their own labour and seed the whole of the arable which she gave him and that which she holds of John as her dower and carry a third of the corn to her house, save that she shall have a third of the corn hoed and reaped and she shall have a third of the hay from certain meadows which John shall cause to be cut and taken to her house and John shall have all other herbage. Further Avice shall restore to John and his heirs reasonable expenses incurred in discharging the services due from these lands. If John dies and his heirs do not observe this agreement Avice may reoccupy the whole tenement. Late Henry III or early Edward I |
