Description | reciting: 1) that the governors are seised of certain lands in Wingerworth, the yearly rent or value of which does not exceed £20 10s 2) that the governors are seised of certain lands in Ashover in their capacity as trustees of six almshouses 3) agreement of 10 Jan 1772 between John Webster of Derby gentleman and Henry Gladwin whereby Webster agreed to sell to Gladwin for £3250 in farm in Brailsford containing 153 acres 36 perches 4) proposal by Gladwin to the school governors to exchange the land in Brailsford for the lands in Wingerworth and Ashover 5) Act of Parliament of 12 Geo III to enable the school governors to proceed to the exchange whereby Gladwin conveys to the school a messuage in Brailsford with an orchard and garden and the Upper Croft, the Grass Croft, the Nether Back to the Barn, the Farther Back to the Barn, the Nearer New Close, the Farther New Close, the Crabtree Flatt, the Kiln Close and the Kiln Bitt in exchange for a messuage in Wingerworth and the Long Close, the Hive Yard, the Little Field, the Far Field, the Ridding, the Well Meadow, the Clay Piece the Wood Piece, the Ferney Leys, the Briery Croft, the Ring Peace, the Wheat Close, the Land that leads from the common to the house, and a proportionate share of the Intake enclosed from the commons, and another messuage in Wingerworth with the Bothams, the Well Field, the Doles, the Little Field, the Great Close, the Brome Piece, the Wood Piece, and the Lesser Wood Piece and the remaining part of the Intake, and Gladwin also conveys to the school the John Pingle, the Upper New Breck, the Nether New Breck, the Wood Gates Bage or Meadow the Horse Pingle, the Rough Pingle, the Wood Gates, the six acres, the twelve acres, the Wood Gates Knowles, the Eight Acres, the Big Hill, the Barn Meadow, Barn Meadow Pingle, the Moor Silk, the Little Hill, and the Underwood Pingle in exchange for a messauge called Hassell Hurst in the parish of Ashover and the Great Dole, the Rough Close, the Yew Tree Close the Sower Butts, the Spout Yard, the Nether Breach, the Thistley Close, the Nether Fields, the Ox Wood, the Little Meadow, the Pease Close, the Cart Dole, the Little Dole, the Short Lands, the Ridding Calf Yard, the Stubble Close, the Cow Leys, the Far Wood Close, the Well Meadow, the Well Close Meadow, the Barn Croft and the Paddock, and another messuage in the parish of Ashover, with the Ox Close, the Middle Close, the Dredge Close, the How Field, the Piggs Wood, the New Piece, the Back Croft, the Intake, the Well Dole, the Middle Dole, the Back Dole, the Paddock, the Boon Gate, the Barn Croft and Crab Tree Croft. |
