Title
C N(eedham) from his lodging over against the Mews Gate to Col Sanders or Col Barton - on Friday a letter was read in the House from Captain Tomlinson who, I understand, commands your Derbyshire troop giving an account of the insurrection in Derby, in which some reproach is cast upon yourself and Major Barton - he claims that you forbad Captain Thorpe to charge the enemy - it exalts the other party who rejoice at the humbling of men of your persuasion - the House referred the letter to the Committee of State - it will be a wound to your reputation until the matter is cleared - it is the opinion of all you or your major should hasten speedily to satisfy the Council - I entreat you to write to me narrative of the business'
