Release by John Baker of Bakewell, hosier, and John Gardom of Bubnell, hosier, to John Broomhead and Jonathan Broomhead both of Eckington, mercers (trustees of partnership between Baker and Gardom) in consideration of 10s, of a close in Bakewell called Cowley Close used as a whitening croft or bleaching yard, and several warehouses and workshops standing on the same. 23 January 1748/9
