This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
This plan [of the vicinity of Magclough and Ladywash veins] drawn by Frank Mason about 1761 but many parts of ye ground being filled with deads could not be done by the Dial - not a true map. Surveyor: Frank Mason. Scale: 40 yards to an Inch [1:1440]. Size: 52 x 106 cm. Materials: coloured ink on paper. Centred on: SK225780 Notes: simple mining plan of veins showing engine houses in elevation as conical roofed buildings, with hinged doors: with an Explanation. Location:DRO, D1154G/LP26 |
