Description | This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
Anno 1687 the inhabitants of Ashover being about 52 in number did go the boundaries according to this line beginning at the church and ending at Stanidge and did then pull down hyde's cross and ward's cross ?neare Doe Hole Lane and did also then discharge Joseph Baggerly and William Lovesby of Conylay [?Tansley] for getting turfs on the Back of Blake Loe. Size: 34 x 22 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK349631. Notes: no scale or orientation. Boundary perambulation with places marked along the route, bridges noted, written in circular form, stylised church marked, adjoining parishes named: some later additions and information noted along the bottom in the same orientation as the original plan.
